Camp Reflection

Starting Point:
Farm Cove Intermediate
approx. 08:00, 25/10/2017

I arrived at school for camp.
I went on bus 3.
My dad was with me in all of camp.

approx. 08:50, 25/10/2017

I began my trip to Totara Springs.
The trip took around 02:30.

Then I finally arrived.
Totara Springs
Approx. 11:25, 25/10/2017
There were twelve activities to do.

Early Activities:
Approx. 12:30-15:30, 25/10/2017
One of the early activities was the foam slide, filled with soap.
The first time I tried it, I spun around and ended up on my back.

Dinner 1:
05:30-06:30, 25/10/2017
The dinner was lasagna and some other food, like carrot sticks, corn and greens.
I took more than the required time to finish at least 50% up.

Campfires:
Approx. 07:00-08:30, 25/10/2017
This is my first time creating a camp fire in my life.
The fires were pretty hot, but I didn’t have the biggest fire.
Eventually all of the fires went out.

I went to bed at 10:30, 25/10/2017.

Day 2

I woke up at 07:00, 26/10/2017.

The only one of twelve activities I couldn’t do was abseiling because I was scared that I would fall.

But I beat some of this acrophobia by trying four times in the rock climbing activity.

Take 1: 6 steps
Take 2: 10 steps
Take 3: Top, 26 secs
Take 4: Top, 16 secs

I went across the river for Kayaking, the last day activity.

My boat was getting pushed backwards by the current.

The second night activity was called “Burma Trail”.

That means I would be sneaking walking around through the night and tried to avoid getting scared by anything.

Those screaming noises and “jumpscares” weren’t scary enough, but the one thing that frustrated me was when I got splat right in the face!

Another thing is, it was close to Halloween at this point.

Once again, I went to bed at 10:30.

Day 3

Approx. 06:55, 27/10/2017

I woke up a few minutes earlier than last time.

Again I went across the river for rafting, but I had a bad start, since my tyre was untied from the raft and I felt like being swept away in a river. In fact I was, but for just metres.

The final major activity of this camp was Go-Karts, the alternative to BMX. Since it was raining there was no BMX.

You could go on the go-kart 4 laps, 2 as a driver and 2 as a passenger.

It felt like on the Luge go-kart down the hills of Rotorua, much higher than even the rock-climbing wall, which I went near the end of last year, but it was a bit more complex. Like a manual car, it had a steering wheel, an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal.
I drove the two driving laps successfully.

Approx. 12:00, 27/10/2017

Here was my final meal at camp: a sandwich.

Just before 13:00, 27/10/2017, my trip back from camp started and luckily not a thing my dad and I brought to camp was left behind!

I brought my daypack bag and my bigger bag back home; the rest was in my car.

At some point in the trip even my car was ahead of me.

Approx. 15:30, 27/10/2017

I finally arrived at Farm Cove Intermediate School.

I think that this two-day camp was fun and quite successful, like last year’s Camp MERC.
Camp MERC: 05-07/09/2016, ⅞ activities
TS Camp: 25-27/10/2017, 11/12 activities

Humour

Dictionary definitions 01) the quality of being funny 02) aka sense of humour -  the ability to appreciate or express that which is humorous 03) situations, speech or writings that are thought to be humourous Origin From the Latin humor meaning   moisture , related to Latin ūmēre to be wet, Old Norse vökr moist, Greek hugros wet In ancient and medieval physiology, it refers to any of the four body fluids (blood, phlegm, choler, and melancholy or black bile) which were thought to determine physical condition and state of mind. (Found this information online.) What does it mean when a person has a sense of humour? A person is thought to have a sense of humour when other people find him funny. Sometimes I have a sense of humour because my family laughs at my jokes. About my mum

About my mum But not the only person I love. Born on 27 June 1980 in the Philippines, my mum (full name: Wrigley Expression Santos) currently works for Auckland Council. She writes about services of the massive Auckland Council. She and my dad (Glenn Santos, born May 6, 1979) worked very hard and they migrated from the Philippines to New Zealand. My mum works very hard and has never been fired a single time. That means everytime she moves into a different office, she leaves work.  She did many things on Google Drive over the recent few years. She takes care of her second baby (Stella Lily Santos, born October 30, 2015) firmly and she and I have fun with her. My mum really hates cats. They scare her and sends my dad to scare them away.  Sometime in April she encountered a dog. She kept still and told the council there was a dog out on the street. If it were a cat, the situation would be even worse. She loves me very much. Sometimes she can tell me off because she ca...
